Get help using Smart Shop, Waitlist, and Spending. Stay in control at checkout.
Getting Started
Create your account
- Open expendr and choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Amazon.
- Pick a username.
- Complete a short setup so the app can tailor tips to your goals.
First run checklist
- Try a search in Smart Shop.
- Add one non urgent item to the Waitlist.
- Visit Spending to see your summary and set a budget.

- iOS and iPadOS.
- Web companion + browser extension (in development).
Using Smart Shop
What Smart Shop does
- Searches across retailers and shows real prices with cents.
- Highlights lower cost equivalents with similar specs.
- Flags impulse risk items based on context and your patterns.
Search and filter
- Type any product name in the search bar.
- Tap Filters to set price, stores, color, and size.
- AI Optimizer can refine results using your history.
Waitlist and Timers
Add to Waitlist
On Product Detail, tap Add to Waitlist. Timer starts with your chosen duration.
Three tap unlock
Impulse items show a lock. Tap three times to unlock; haptics confirm taps.
Ready to Buy
After timer ends, item moves to Ready to Buy. Swipe left to Buy, right to Save (records money not spent).
Spending and Optimize
- Summary sentence with swipeable time ranges.
- Budgets show labeled progress bars.
- Charts: category pie, line chart over time, Total Saved view.
- Optimize: 3 SMART tips with one tap Apply. Regenerate anytime.
Account and Settings
- Profile with Likes, Purchases, and user details.
- Settings for nudges, waitlist duration, optimizer, appearance.
- Export or delete data at any time.
Data, Privacy, and Affiliates
- We collect in-app activity + basic account info.
- Savings = substitutions + deferrals.
- Monetization via affiliate links; no extra cost to you.
- You can disable AI Optimizer and export/delete data.
Troubleshooting
- Pull to refresh if retailer links don’t appear.
- Tap firmly 3x within 2s to unlock locked buys.
- Check iOS + in-app notification settings if alerts fail.
- Switch chart date ranges if empty.
- Filters apply locally; clear and re-apply if slow.
- Update Google/Amazon app if sign in fails.
